Miomir Kecmanovic had scored only one main draw win on the indoor hardcourts at this level before 2020 but has done well on the surface this year by bagging four such wins from the possible six, including a semifinal appearance in New York.

Sumit Nagal failed against the top seed Pierre Hugues Herbert in the final qualifying round on Sunday (2-6 2-6) but will enter the main draw as a lucky loser. The top-ranked Indian has won only two matches on indoor hardcourt so far in his career, with one of those wins coming against Norbert Gombos in this campaign (QR1). World #129 Sumit Nagal, who reached the second round of the US Open last month, is yet to win a main draw match in ATP Tour events this year. His only previous such match in these ten months came in Pune, where he failed in three sets against Viktor Troicki.
