Radu Albot vs. Andreas Seppi – Prediction (ATP Paris – 29.10.2019)

Albot vs. Seppi – Preview and players comparison.

Though Andreas Seppi (Italy) holds a 2-1 lead in the H2H series, Radu Albot (Moldova) has performed far better so far in 2019, and he is expected to have a slight edge in this particular meeting.

Losing the final qualifying round against Yoshihito Nishioka in three sets on Sunday has proved to be a blessing in disguise for Andreas Seppi. While Nishioka lost his first-round match against Jan Lennard Struff on Monday, Seppi entered the main draw as a lucky loser and received a bye in the first round after Roger Federer’s withdrawal. Andreas Seppi’s recent two campaigns in Paris Masters ended in the qualifying stages, and the last time he registered a main draw win here was against Pablo Cuevas in the first round of 2015 edition. Seppi has competed in Paris every year since 2005, but only once he could progress beyond the second round. Former world #18 Andreas Seppi reached at least the quarterfinal in his previous two campaigns on the main tour — semifinalist in Moscow (IH) and quarterfinalist in Zhuhai (OH).

Radu Albot could win only three games against the eventual champion Roger Federer in the second round of ATP Basel last week and would be relieved after seeing the Swiss pull out of Paris Masters this week. The top-ranked Moldovan kickstarted his debut Paris Masters main draw campaign with a dominant straight-set win over the reigning ATP Hamburg champion Nikoloz Basilashvili on Monday, 6-3 6-2. He will now look to register back-to-back wins for the first time since progressing to the semifinal in Los Cabos.
