Mikhail Kukushkin vs. Miomir Kecmanovic – Prediction – ATP SINGLES, St. Petersburg (Russia) – 13.10.2020

Preview and players comparison.

Miomir Kecmanovic (Serbia) now makes his debut in ATP St. Petersburg as he looks to extend his good record on indoor hardcourt this year. He competed in ATP New York (IH) this February and made his way to the semifinal there, defeating the likes of Ugo Humbert and Tommy Paul. A lot depends on Mikhail Kukushkin’s (Kazachstan) performance levels as he has already won this matchup (7-6 6-4 in Shanghai 2019) and massively experienced in St. Petersburg.

Miomir Kecmanovic enjoyed the best week of his career in Kitzbuhel last month, where he defeated the likes of Kei Nishikori and Yannick Hanfmann to lift the maiden ATP Tour title of his career. However, the Serbian couldn’t build on it as he suffered humiliating defeats against Yoshihito Nishioka and Diego Schwartzman in the first round of Rome Masters and French Open, respectively.

Mikhail Kukushkin snapped his five-match losing streak and got back to the winning ways by scoring two wins in the US Open, but he is still struggling to find his range and deliver consistent results as he couldn’t get out of the qualifying stages in Rome Masters and got bageled by Pedro Martinez Portero in the second round of the French Open. The 32-year-old Kazakh won the only ATP Tour title of his career here in St.Petersburg back in 2010 and reached the quarterfinal during his recent visit in 2019. He has competed here ten times before and has got a 4-5 record in the first round matches.
