Cameron Norrie vs. Miomir Kecmanovic – Prediction – ATP, St. Petersburg (Russia) – 14.10.2020

Preview and players comparison.

While Cameron Norrie is marginally the better player on indoor hardcourt, Miomir Kecmanovic has produced better performances and results on the main tour this year, which makes it difficult to pick a winner in this evenly-poised second-round clash.

After a couple of disappointing defeats against Andrea Pellegrino and Daniel Elahi Galan Riveros, Cameron Norrie got back to the winning ways by upsetting Taylor Fritz in the first round of ATP St.Petersburg on Monday, 6-4 4-6 6-3. The South African born Brit now looks to register consecutive main draw wins in ATP Tour events for the first time since progressing to the semifinal in Atlanta last year. Moreover, he has never won back-to-back main draw matches in an indoor hardcourt ATP Tour event so far in his career.

Miomir Kecmanovic was also winless in two matches before entering ATP St.Petersburg but did well to defeat the former champion Mikhail Kukushkin in straight sets in the first round, 6-3 7-6. Regardless of the recent poor performances against Yoshihito Nishioka in Rome Masters and Diego Schwartzman in the French Open, this has been a hugely successful season for the Serbian youngster, who made a semifinal appearance on the indoor hardcourts in ATP New York and won the maiden ATP Tour title of his career in Kitzbuhel recently.
