This is Dzumhur’s third consecutive main draw appearance on the main tour as a qualifier. Benoit Paire’s excellent 2019 season seems to have ended a bit early as he has won only one of his last five matches on tour, which came against the struggling Marco Cecchinato in Shanghai Masters. On Monday, the mercurial Frenchman will look to avoid his fourth consecutive first-round exit from Paris Masters. He has competed here every year since 2010 but could register only two main draw wins — against Pablo Andujar in 2012 and Gael Monfils in 2015. Despite the recent poor form, Benoit Paire probably won’t have any regrets as he posted some surprisingly consistent results in the first half by bagging nearly 30 wins and two titles in Lyon and Marrakech.
