Alexander Zverev is seeded #4 and given a bye in the first round as he begins his fourth consecutive Paris Masters campaign on Wednesday. The German’s record in this French indoor hard court event isn’t too great as he failed in the second round of his debut campaign in 2017, quarterfinal in 2018, and round of 16 recently in 2019. Nevertheless, world #7 Alexander Zverev would be confident of progressing deep in Paris this week as he is in terrific form at the moment, having lifted consecutive titles in the first and second leg of ATP Cologne last month.

The top-ranked German resumed his season with a disappointing three-set defeat at the hands of Andy Murray in the opening round of Cincinnati Masters but has done well since then by finishing as the runner-up in the US Open, reaching the round of 16 in the French Open, and winning eight consecutive matches on the indoor hard courts in Cologne.

Miomir Kecmanovic got back to winning ways by knocking out last week’s ATP Nur Sultan runner-up, John Millman, in the first round of Paris Masters on Tuesday. The Serbian was in control of the match right from the start and never looked like losing it, 6-4 6-2. This was a much-needed result for Miomir Kecmanovic, who failed in the qualifying stages of Paris Masters during his debut campaign in 2019 and had won only two of his seven matches on the main tour since winning the maiden ATP Tour title of his career in Kitzbuhel a couple of months ago.
