Regardless of the recent struggles, Miomir Kecmanovic would be satisfied with his performance and results this season as he has bagged 39 wins so far in 2019, which includes a runner-up finish in Antalya (career-best result) and a quarterfinal appearance in Indian Wells.

Top seed Alex de Minaur needed four sets to overcome the dangerous Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, 4-2 3-4 4-1 4-1. The Aussie is now 4-0 in the group stages of ATP Next Gen Finals as he won all his three round-robin matches during his debut campaign here in 2018. Top seeds have reached at least the semifinal of ATP Next Gen Finals in the previous two editions, and in fact, they have lost only one round-robin match — Andrey Rublev lost his second match of the 2017 edition to Hyeon Chung.
