Adrian Mannarino vs. Jannik Sinner – Prediction – ATP Sofia (Bulgaria) 13.11.2020

H2H: Adrian Mannarino v Jannik Sinner – comparison.

While Jannik Sinner is relatively more solid and consistent and also the talented player of these two, Adrian Mannarino is in fine form at the moment, which makes it difficult to pick a winner here. The Italian deservedly starts as the firm favorite, but a place in the finals of ATP Sofia is not beyond the Frenchman’s reach.

Jannik Sinner had to work hard for the win against the third seed Alex de Minaur in the quarterfinal of ATP Sofia on Thursday. The Aussie won the first set and got an early break in the second but couldn’t maintain his level as the match progressed, and the Italian took advantage to snatch the win, 6-7 6-4 6-1. It was the talented Jannik Sinner’s first three-setter of the campaign as he previously scored comfortable straight-set wins over Marton Fucsovics and Marc Andrea Huesler in the first and second round, respectively.

The 19-year-old Jannik Sinner’s only previous semifinal appearance on the main tour this season came in the second leg of ATP Cologne a few weeks ago, where he suffered a disappointing straight-set defeat against the top seed and eventual champion Alexander Zverev, despite making an excellent start to the match. Jannik Sinner lifted the title in the ATP Next Gen Finals last year, but he is yet to progress beyond the semifinal of a regular ATP Tour event. He lost his previous two such matches in straight sets against Stan Wawrinka in Antwerp 2019 and Cologne 2020.

Adrian Mannarino posted his best result in Sofia in five appearances after getting the better of Radu Albot in three sets in the quarterfinal, 6-2 1-6 6-3. His previous best result here was reaching the quarterfinal and losing to Roberto Bautista Agut during his debut campaign in 2016. The left-handed Frenchman was two points away from losing to the lucky loser Martin Klizan in the first round of ATP Sofia earlier this week, but he will now fight for a place in the championship match.

Adrian Mannarino struggled to win matches all year but has done really well on indoor hard courts in recent weeks by finishing as the runner-up in Nur Sultan and reaching the quarterfinal in Cologne and round of 16 in Paris Masters. Adrian Mannarino is currently on a six-match winning streak in the semifinal of ATP Tour events, with the last defeat at this stage coming against Sam Querrey in New York 2018.
