Matheus Pereira has been West Brom’s shining light recently, netting four times across their last four games – albeit three came from the spot. Meanwhile, all three of Ademola Lookman’s (FUL) PL goals were match openers. West Brom are the only PL team yet to score after HT at home this term.

West Bromwich Albion’s 5-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City wouldn’t have raised many eyebrows, but it continued Sam Allardyce’s unfortunate start to his West Brom reign, becoming the first manager since QPR’s Chris Ramsey in 2015 to lose his opening four Premier League (PL) home matches. They’ve now lost five straight PL games here by a 3+ goal margin, putting the ‘Baggies’ on the verge of six consecutive top-flight home defeats for the first time since 1981/82! A win is important in avoiding that fate, but also crucial in this battle between two of the PL’s bottom three, especially as West Brom already sit seven points adrift of safety. A lot of the blame lies at the feet of an attack that’s netted a league-low 0.50 goals per PL home match, although their defence has also conceded the opener within ten minutes in four of their last five games at The Hawthorns too.

Fulham Insights.

Opponents Fulham haven’t had much luck either, with a goalless draw in midweek giving them a ninth game (from 19) this PL season in which they failed to score. That extended their own PL winless run to nine matches (D6, L3) and has them five points adrift of safety, albeit with a game in hand. Three straight PL draws on the road for Fulham, and three from the last four H2Hs held here (W1) indicates this game could be as tight as it looks. However with the ‘Cottagers’ picking up points every time they’ve netted first away this PL campaign (W1, D2), they’ll look to do so again here.
