H2H: Udinese vs Genoa – Comparison.

Stefano Okaka scored a brace last month, and netted the opener in Udinese’s last H2H home win. Meanwhile, Goran Pandev was Genoa’s first goalscorer in both SA H2Hs last season. Udinese have won four of their last six SA games after an international break (W4, L2), whilst Genoa are winless in their last seven such SA games (D4, L3).

Udinese Insights.

Winless in their last three Serie A (SA) games (D1, L2), Udinese have picked up only four points this season (W1, D1, L5) which is their worst tally at this stage since 1994/95. Results have been tight though, as five of Udinese’s six SA win/loss results have arrived via a single-goal margin, with the last three in that sequence witnessing the decisive goal scored beyond the 80th minute. Early improvements will be sought however, as Udinese haven’t scored before the 20th minute this league season and are yet to lead at the break (HT: D4, L3). As such, Udinese have scored only one of their four SA home goals before HT, which probably hasn’t helped their home record (W1, L3).

Genoa Insights.

Genoa’s form has been equally patchy, failing to win their last six SA games (D2, L4). The first goal could be crucial though as Genoa have lost four of the five SA matches in which they conceded first (D1, L4), while winning the only league game that they scored first. Genoa will also have to overcome recent history, as they are winless in the last eight SA H2Hs (D3, L5) – the longest such H2H streak. Notoriously poor travellers (three wins across their last 31 SA away games), Genoa are still searching for a first away victory of the league season (D2, L1). They have failed to score in two of those three games, and all goals have come from open play as they are yet to score from a set-piece situation this SA season.
