H2H: Torino vs. Juventus – Prediction (Serie A

Torino are in the middle of a minor crisis after losing five of their last eight Serie A (SA) fixtures (W1, D2), and scoring only one goal in their last four (D2, L2). The hosts have also conceded first in six of their last seven league games not to end goalless, consequently going in behind at half-time on five occasions. Andrea Belotti has scored four of Torino’s six SA home goals this season, with all of them arriving after the break. Defence is ultimately where Torino’s main problem lies, with both teams scoring in five of their last six home competitive matches. Curiously though, this has been the case in only three of last ten H2Hs held here, with just one of the last five competitive H2Hs overall (at any venue) seeing both teams score.

All of Torino’s three SA home matches won/lost this term have finished 2-1, with two goals (either way) in the second half each time. Strong as ever, Juventus have now won eight of their last nine competitive matches, netting exactly twice in seven of those wins. The visitors remain unbeaten in SA this season (W8, D2), with both draws arriving away from home. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a game-winning goal by converting a late penalty last time out, and netted both of Juventus’ goals across last season’s H2Hs. Juventus have also opened the scoring in their last five league games, and in four of their five away league outings this season (W3, D2). Very much in ‘black and white’, the H2H record makes for even better reading, with Juventus losing only once to Torino in the last 28 competitive H2Hs.
