Real Madrid vs Leganes – Preview and Teams Comparison.

A shock 1-0 defeat to Mallorca in Real Madrid’s last La Liga (LL) game was their first loss of the league campaign, but the fourth top-flight match from their last five that finished with under 2.5 goals. At home, at least, Real have scored 2+ goals in four straight competitive matches (W3, D1), winning by half-time in all three victories. Karim Benzema (RMA) has netted the opener in all five league games he’s scored in this term. With the opener being scored by the 20th minute in Real’s last four competitive games, and by the tenth minute in their last two at home, expect a quick start. However whilst Real are yet to concede a first-half league goal at home, they have conceded an average of 1.0 goals per LL home match after the 60th minute this season.

Real’s last four competitive home matches featured at least one goal in the ten minutes before half-time. Five of Real’s last seven LL home victories involved both teams scoring. Leganés have scored before half-time in three of the last four H2Hs (W1, D1, L2).

Leganés’ last match was also against Mallorca, but they triumphed 1-0 and grabbed their first win of the season (W1, D2, L7). However their winning goal in that game was just their fifth goal this season, averaging a paltry 0.5 per LL match so far. Martin Braithwaite scored a first-half winner in Leganés’ last match – yet his other two goals this term came as second-half consolation strikes in a pair of 2-1 defeats. Yet whilst the visitors have picked up just one point on the road this season, they are yet to concede more than two goals in an away game since February, and have been losing at half-time just once on the road this LL campaign (D3, L1).
