Real Madrid vs. Betis – Prediction (La Liga – 02.11.2019)

Preview and Teams Comparison.

Real Betis have won on their last two visits to Santiago Bernabéu in LaLiga, only the second time ever they have won consecutive away games against Real Madrid in the competition after December 1934. They have never won three away games in a row against them in the top-flight.

Real Madrid’s 5-0 win here in midweek marked their biggest victory of the season, and their fifth La Liga (LL) victory in seven (W5, D1, L1). In a further testament to Real Madrid’s ability to dominate, none of the victories in that sequence saw the ‘Galacticos’ pegged back for an equaliser at any point. Luka Jović was the last of five different scorers for Real Madrid in midweek – his first LL goal. Forming part of that sequence, three of Real Madrid’s last four LL home games have seen them keep a first-half clean sheet and go into the half-time break with a two-goal advantage or greater.

After their midweek result, Real Madrid are now averaging exactly 3.0 goals per LL home game. Betis have lost at least one half by a one-goal margin in each of their last three LL away defeats. The ‘Galacticos’ are also yet to concede a first-half goal in a league match at Bernabeu stadium this term.

Real Betis are stuck on just one away point so far this season (D1, L4). Starting with their 5-2 defeat at Barcelona (Aug 25), alternate LL away defeats have seen the ‘Verdiblancos’ open the scoring inside the first 15 minutes, only to concede the next match goal. Betis’ Loren Morón is his team’s last goalscorer on hostile turf, getting the first goal on the day. He also netted the opening goal on his last visit to the Bernabeu Stadium. Going back to the start of 2018/19, Betis lament a record of: W5, D2, L14, from LL away games entered as outsiders. One of those wins, however, came in last season’s corresponding fixture. Betis won 2-0 with goals either end of the 61st-75th minute period.
