Leipzig picked up seven points from their first three Bundesliga matches against Köln, losing for the first time in the most recent meeting between the sides in February 2018 (2-1 at home).

RB Leipzig continue their Bundesliga title challenge full of confidence after winning their last four competitive games by an aggregate scoreline of 20-3. Quite remarkably, only two of those goals arrived prior to the 30th minute, and two of the three goals they conceded came after the 88th minute. Timo Werner has seven goals across Leipzig’s last four games, including a hat-trick in their last home match. A slight disappointment is their home record this season, and whilst they’ve won back-to-back clashes at the Red Bull Arena, they’ve won just three of seven in all competitions so far. The 8-0 win over Mainz last time out here was not only a club-record league victory, but was also their first home clean sheet since May.

Cologne are amidst a run of four straight losses in all competitions, the first time this has happened to them since 2017. They’re the division’s lowest scorers with ten goals, but have at least managed to score in 63.64% of their league encounters this season. Simon Terodde has a goal in three of Cologne’s last five matches, including being the first scorer twice inside the opening 15 minutes. Goals shouldn’t be in short supply though considering eight of Cologne’s 11 league fixtures have featured over 2.5 goals, with their matches averaging 3.00 per fixture. They have won just one of their away league games so far, but that was also the only game this season that they won when conceding the opening goal.
