Preston and Huddersfield haven’t faced in a league game since April 2017, when the Terriers won 3-2 at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Unbeaten in three matches, and currently two points off the top-spot, Preston North End are the Championship’s ‘form team’ in the home league table. With just half of the Terriers’ last ten Championship meetings seeing over 2.5 total goals scored, Huddersfield may yet curb Deepdale’s tendency to produce goalfests. Huddersfield’s Karlan Ahearne-Grant has snaffled nine goals this term, and three of his last four goals have come as first goalscorer. Further to this, Huddersfield alone have received ten cautions over their last three unbeaten awaydays; two of which were scrappy 1-0 wins. Despite scoring first in six of seven awaydays though, Huddersfield have only picked up an average of 1.33 points per-match when scoring first.
