H2H: Parma vs. Verona – Prediction (Serie A

Preview and Teams Comparison.

After having won four of their first seven Serie A meetings against Verona (D1 L2), Parma have won only one of their last seven games against them in the competition (D2 L4). Parma surprised Internazionale with a 2-2 away draw in the last round, but have won nine of their 13 Serie A (SA) points at home. The ‘Ducali’ have won their last three home matches, opening the scoring each time, and their quick starts have helped them net at least two goals before half-time in three of their previous four fixtures (home/away). Yann Karamoh netted his first goal for Parma with a first-half strike last time out. Two of his last three goals arrived before the break. In fact, the hosts have won all four competitive home matches this term in which they scored the opener. However they have also conceded six of eight competitive goals at home before half-time, with only eight of the 21 total goals at home this season arriving during the second half.

As such, they’ve failed to score in four of their nine league fixtures so far. Miguel Veloso is the only Verona player to score multiple goals this SA season – both arrived before the break. Despite netting only three away goals, Verona have won four points on the road (W1, D1, L2), losing only to Juventus and Napoli. Therefore a key to any success could be the first goal, as the team that’s opened the scoring has lost only one of Verona’s nine SA fixtures this term.
