Gaëtan Laborde has been Montpellier’s first goalscorer in four of his last six goalscoring league games. Meanwhile, Ludovic Ajorque has been the game’s final scorer in Strasbourg’s previous three away league games. There’s been a penalty in each of Strasbourg’s last six L1 away outings.

Aiming to extend their run of two consecutive victories in Ligue 1 (L1), and register a third straight league clean sheet for the first time in over two years, Montpellier will be looking to start well here. Scoring first will be a priority, as they have won five of the six L1 games this season in which they netted the opening goal (D1). The hosts were leading by a one-goal margin at HT in all three of their home wins this campaign, whilst scoring first in the opening 20 minutes on two occasions. They have, however, lost their last two matches here, although you have to go back to February 2016 to find the last time they lost three consecutive L1 home games.

Strasbourg Insights.

There will likely be a winner one way or another, as Strasbourg are one of just three L1 sides yet to register a draw (W2, L8). That’s not worked in their favour though, as with just six points after matchday ten, Strasbourg are currently enduring their worst start to a new top-flight campaign since 2005/06 – a season that saw them finish 19th. Although hoping to claim their first win at the Stade de la Mosson since 2004 (D3, L2 following), the visitors are burdened by a poor record of just one win from the last 35 away league games in which they conceded first (W1, D7, L27). Encouragingly though, they have kept a first-half clean sheet in all but two of their five L1 road trips this term.
