It’s been a stop-start Ligue 1 (L1) campaign for Monaco so far (W3, D1, L2), but a tight one too as all five win/loss results have featured a one-goal margin between the sides at the final whistle, and that’s despite four of those witnessing the same result at HT as FT, and no first-half draw so far (HT: W4, L2). Stretching back into last season, Monaco are unbeaten in six L1 home games (W4, D2). Surprisingly, only one of those saw a level HT scoreline despite all six ending either via a one-goal margin or a draw. The last three of those home games saw the opener netted by the tenth minute, contributing to match goals during both halves in their last four games here.

Montpellier Insights.

Montpellier have been exciting to watch this season with five of their six L1 fixtures witnessing both teams score, over 2.5 goals, and goals in both halves. The exception, however, was their last match (1-0 loss vs Nîmes), which did continue one trend – four of Montpellier’s last five defeats have arrived via a one-goal margin after conceding a decisive second-half strike. The visitors have started their away campaign as they finished their last, with two winless road trips so far (D1, L1), meaning they have won just one L1 away game since the start of last season. In fact the last six that they started as an away outsider, they lost.
