Manchester City and Atalanta have never previously met in European competition.

Manchester City will look to make it three wins from three in Champions League (CL) Group C, and are yet to concede so far, netting five goals themselves. Unsurprisingly then, both their CL wins have come by at least a two-goal margin, yet despite their near total domination, the ‘Sky Blues’ have been shown more yellow cards than their opponents in both matches. Riyad Mahrez (MCY) has started the CL fantastically, with a goal and two assists so far – two of those involvements came before half-time. In just 272 minutes of football spread over eight competitive club matches, Luis Muriel has scored five goals for Atalanta this season. In Serie A however, ‘La Dea’ have performed admirably away, scoring at least two goals (2.8 on average) in their five SA road trips this term. Expect early action though, as four of their six competitive away matches this season featured at least three goals before half-time.
