Overview.

A 2-1 loss to Cyprus made it four defeats in seven European Championship qualification (ECQ) matches for Kazakhstan ending their chances of qualification. That result was only the second time in Kazakhstan’s seven ECQ fixtures that both teams scored. Furthermore, that defeat also made it four consecutive ECQ home fixtures that have produced over 2.5 total goals. Kazakhstan are now vying to score in three back-to-back home ECQs for the first time since 2007, yet they are up against history here after failing to score in three of the five previous ECQ H2Hs.

Belgium continued their free-scoring ways with a 9-0 thrashing of San Marino, and became the first side to qualify for EURO 2020 in the process.
