H2H: Greece vs. Finland – Prediction (EURO Qualification

Greek ambitions of a Euro 2020 appearance were dashed by Finland’s victory over Liechtenstein last time out and that is largely due to the hosts’ record of just one home victory from four (W1, D1, L2). Notably, Greece lost both games here in which they conceded first, whilst they failed to win one of two in which they took first blood. Finland (#55) were sent into delirium last time out as they qualified for their first ever major tournament finals. However, their only away victories in qualifying came against nations ranked below #90, each 2-0. The Fins lost by a margin of at least two goals in both games vs higher-ranked opposition – Greece sit just three places below Finland in #58. It’s a ‘Pukki Party!’ Finland’s Teemu Pukki sent his nation into hysteria with his second-half brace last time out to make it nine goals in qualifying (60% of Finland total). Interestingly, four of Finland’s last five competitive away games ended 2-0 one way or the other, whilst ten of their last 11 competitive road trips produced under 2.5 match goals. Moreover, both teams scored in just two of those 11 matches (18.18%).
