Germany remain unbeaten in UEFA Nations League (UNL) action this term (W1, D2), but their 2-1 victory over Ukraine (October 10) was their first win in this competition since its launch (W1, D4, L2). They’ve now scored in each of their last 17 matches (W9, D6, L2), and their last five all featured both teams on the scoresheet (W2, D3). In fact their last five home games also saw both teams score (W2, D3) whilst their last eight at home featured an entertaining average of 4.88 goals per game. Remarkably well-disciplined, Joachim Löw’s side have received just two yellow cards across their last five competitive internationals as hosts.

Team Switzerland.

Switzerland’s chances of repeating 2018’s fourth-place UNL finish are looking slim after their 1-0 defeat to Spain last time out left them bottom of the group (D1, L2). They’ve now failed to keep a clean sheet in five matches (W1, D1, L3), but didn’t concede after the 75th minute during that sequence. Curiously, they’ve leaked a goal in the 14th minute in three of their last four games! Poor travellers recently, Switzerland have won just one of their previous six away fixtures (D1, L4), a 6-1 hammering of lowly Gibraltar. They received two or three yellow cards in each of those matches whilst conceding an average of 1.5 goals per game. Ominously, they haven’t won a H2H in Germany/West Germany since 1956 (D1, L6).
