Crystal Palace’s 1-1 draw in their last match may have ended a two-game losing run, but it wasn’t pretty as they became the first team since at least 2003/04 to have just one shot at goal in a PL game and for that shot to be from the penalty spot. After that result, four of their five PL matches this season have now seen the ‘Eagles’ record less than 35% ball possession. Despite beating Manchester United 3-1 in their PL away opener, Roy Hodgson’s men have lost five of their previous six PL road trips ‘to nil’, all by a 2+ goal margin, and three after a lost first half.
