Four back-to-back defeats have seen Everton drop into the Premier League (PL) relegation zone. A big problem for them is conceding goals, and they now haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last six PL matches and have conceded two or more goals in six of their previous eight competitive fixtures. Not just failing in defence, they are also faltering in attack. Only two PL sides have scored fewer than their tally of six this season. When they do score though, it tends to be before half-time. Their once sturdy defence will be disappointed at the rate in which they are shipping goals – they have conceded eight across their previous three competitive matches. Furthermore, seven of those eight goals came in the second half. The ‘Hammers’ have won two of their previous four PL visits to Goodison Park (W2, L2). Both victories saw them score exactly three goals, yet both defeats also saw them fail to find the net.
