DC United vs. FC Cincinnati – Score prediction (06.10.2019)

Overview.

D.C. United have lost just one of their last nine inaugural home MLS clashes against new expansion franchises (W6, D2), yet despite the fairly mediocre form of their opponent, they cannot take this clash for granted considering they’ve won just two of their last six MLS home fixtures. Furthermore, the hosts have failed to win any of the eight MLS home games that they’ve conceded the opener in this term (D4, L4), although in FC Cincinnati they face a team with a paltry win-draw rate of just 31.25% as an away outsider (W3, D2, L11) – the third-worst in the league going into the round.

However, it is worth noting that two of the five road trips that the visitors gained points at, came against sides set for the playoffs, albeit in their opening month. Cincinnati’s attack will also give them a chance here, after scoring in nine consecutive MLS away matches. They will, however, have to go without the suspended Allan Cruz, who has scored three of the visitors’ last four goals from open play. Cincinnati have lost seven of nine MLS fixtures (W1, D1) without him.
