Dan Evans (UK) vs. Bernard Tomic (Australia) – Score prediction (14.10.2019)

Preview and players comparison.

Though Bernard Tomic has played a lot of matches in Stockholm and is also a former semifinalist of this tournament, the current form makes Dan Evans the favorite to continue his dominance in this matchup (3-1).

Dan Evans, who returned from the drug ban last year and was unranked for a brief period in the opening few months of 2018 season, is seeded #8 in the main draw of ATP Stockholm this week. This is also the Brit’s first-ever appearance in this Swedish indoor hardcourt tournament. The 29-year-old Dan Evans shut down his 2018 season with retirement in Fairfield Challenger (second week of October), which gives him an excellent opportunity to gain some valuable ranking points in the upcoming weeks and post his career-best ranking. Dan Evans’ only previous appearance on indoor hardcourt this season came in Quimper Challenger back in February where he won five consecutive matches before losing to Gregoire Barrere in three sets in the title-decider.

While Dan Evans is enjoying his career-best season so far in 2019 and has won at least one match in each of his last four tournaments, Bernard Tomic is yet to win a completed match since defeating compatriot Marc Polmans in the qualifying stages of Montreal Masters. After retiring from his qualifying matches in Chengdu and Beijing, Bernard Tomic was able to complete his match in Shanghai Masters last week but was bageled by none other than Dan Evans in the first round, 2-6 6-3 0-6. Terrible run of form over the last nine months coupled with the failure to defend the title in Chengdu last month has seen the former world #17 Bernard Tomic move closer to the top 200 exit (currently sitting at #184).
