That defensive strength comes from taking control of games thanks to a league-high 63% possession rate, yet with 50% of Dortmund’s home league goals being netted after the 60th minute, it’s clear the hosts like to attack late on. Similarly, 60% of the goals they’ve scored in top-flight home H2Hs since 2015 have come during this period too.

With Bayern however, goals never seem to wane, and their 24 goals scored after six rounds has broken a record set in 1973/74. In fact in midweek, the German champions became the first team in UEFA Champions League (UCL) history to score four goals in the final 15 minutes of a game as they thrashed Salzburg 6-2.
